Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gram Nirman Mandal,
Sarvodaya Ashram, Sokhodeora, Nawada (Bihar)
Center established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi at Gram Nirman Mandal,Sarvodaya Ashram,Sokhodeora, District Nawada, for rapid transfer of technology to the farmers fields. The operational area of this Krishi Vigyan Kendra is Nawada which comes under South Bihar alluvial plain Zone-III. The aim of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra is technology assessment and refinement through demonstration of technology products and dissemination through training of farmers and extension personnel. In order to achieve this goal, four mandates have been envisaged in the design of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, GramNirman Mandal has collaborated with International, National, State and Local level organizations to improve the agro-level of formers and agriculture.Gram Nirman Mandal, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nawada performs its activities in the light of K.V.K. mandate. Under Resource Conservation Technology KVK has propagated zero tillage techniques on cereals, oilseeds, pulses and other crops covering near about 500 acres area in the district Nawada and adjacent district with the help of IRRI. Regarding other extension activities radio talks were performed by KVK scientist and our activities were covered by many news paper also. KVK has also distributed large quantity of improved rice, wheat, arhar, gram, lentil, mustard, linseed and other seeds among farmers on payment basis. Thousand of horticultural plants, have sold to farmers of Nawada district and nearby district also.
